DECOREX HIGHLIGHTS

This year saw the 40th anniversary of the celebrated design event Decorex. Four decades of bringing the design community together is testament to the continued success of highlighting the latest designs and innovative launches. Taking place at London’s Syon Park, Decorex offers the opportunity for the design community to discover the latest in interiors launches, contemporary brands and styling advice. UBER Interiors were there to explore the design show and share with you the latest offerings…

The much-anticipated entrance to this year’s festival celebrated the design industry through a mixture of dramatic creations including the Larry Walshe’s show stopping floral masterpiece.

Material

The idea of bringing natural materials into your home was a strong theme which continued throughout Decorex this year. Geology can be incorporated into every aspect of your home décor.

The subtle Ocean collection display a range of jewellery hardware incorporating the natural silhouettes and materials from Pullcast.

Portuguese brand Ginger & Jagger design contemporary furniture inspired by nature. Artisanal techniques achieve handcrafted shapes using a combination of natural materials such as brass, copper, exotic woods and marble.

Shape

Clean lines and curves were a staple at Decorex this year with mid-century modern inspired designs featuring amongst the offerings from many coveted designers.

The organic form and natural shapes from Portuguese brand Munna showcased the beauty of furniture. The principal is based upon timeless design created with handcrafted techniques.

Bert Frank combined mid-century furniture and lighting to create an effortless sense of style for today’s modern interiors. The blend of simplistic style and finest materials create a glamorous finish worthy of any interior setting.

Ones to Watch

Alongside some of the key design ideas were a handful of brands who are leading the way with their inspiring creations and statement installations

The inspirational room sets presented by renowned British manufacturer Sofa and Chair proved popular with designers and suppliers alike. All handcrafted furniture in their collection is fully customisable and can be made bespoke to your design requirements. Dutch lighting house, Brand Van Egmond are synonymous with producing astounding lighting sculptures inspired by the world around us. Every range is available to fully customise in an array of metals and finishes to maximise the dramatic effect in your room.

Standout show favourite were Serip lighting who presented an elegant array of intricate lighting designs. The organic lighting range is a culmination in the search for innovative lighting design  almost entirely absent of mechanical production, created entirely by hand.
