BEAUTIFUL NEW DESIGNS BY GLAS ITALIA

Beautiful designs by Glas Italia fresh from Isaloni 2015

Glas Italia’s new furniture collections are created by a ‘who’s who’ of the design world, including Philippe Starck, Patricia Urquiola and Piero Lissoni.

Each designer has brought their own style to the brand, resulting in a selection of beautiful, innovative and striking furniture and mirrors.

Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec

Ronan & Erwan’s partnership began 10 years ago, with the shared desire to reach more balance and fineness in design. This is reflected in the Palanco which is a fascinatingly engineered mirror. A double sided glass is suspended from a system of pulleys and weights enabling it to be adjusted precisely to the perfect height. Their previous works have been exhibited all over the world, including The Design Museum, London and Museum of Modern Art, New York.

Tokujin Yoshioka

Winner of Maison & Objet Creator of the Year 2012 amongst many other accolades, Tokujin’s work can be viewed as art. The Prism wardrobe can almost be seen as a display case for your most beautiful possessions. Created in extralight transparent glass, it looks stunning from all sides, with a Japanese minimalist style unique to it’s designer. The Prism range began with the beautiful mirror table and is now extended with a wardrobe and bench for 2015.

Chiara Andreatti

Chiara was inspired to create the Twinkle table collection by Bohemian glass and traditional glass grinding. Two forms which are found in jewels, the rhombus and triangle, are reflected in the shapes of the bases and mirrored in the skilful carving on the top of the tables.

Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby

Barber and Osgerby are probably best known for designing the bold Olympic torch for the 2012 London Olympics. They have also designed everything from a commemorative £2 coin to tiles for Stella McCartney. The Collector series for Glas Italia is designed to display all kinds of objects to their best effect, from the rare and beautiful to the everyday. For more secret collections there is a version with a fully mirrored outer.

Massimiliano Locatelli – CLS Architetti

Combining tradition and innovation and made in collaboration with highly skilled workers, Architects CLS have design pieces in many major galleries. The Specchio Di Venere tables are organic and sculptural, with soft, asymmetric forms. Pieces can be used alone or combined to make larger tables. Available in a variety of finishes, including special silvered glass.

Patricia Urquiola

With a string of international awards under her belt, Patricia Urquiola is one of the most successful designers working in Milan today. Having previously worked with Glas Italia on the Crossing table range, she now brings beauty and innovation with the creation of the new Shimmer furniture. Using a special iridescent, multichromatic finish, the pieces reflect different colours from each angle, giving almost an ethereal bubble sheen.

Philippe Starck

The highly prolific designer and architect Philippe Starck has created some of our favourite products, including items from Italian lighting brand Flos. The Boxinbox range took Salone del Mobile 2015 by storm. Its concept is simply a box within a box. With the outer layer composed of extralight transparent glass, and an inner storage unit of colourful clear glass. Products range from night stands to coffee tables.

Piero Lissoni

Having recently designed the whimsical Transformer vase and the colourful Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde ranges for Glas Italia, Piero Lissoni returns with the sharp and masculine Wunderkammer display units. Perfect for commercial premises or homes alike, Wunderkammer are double sided and the word roughly translates as ‘Box of Delights’.
